Introduction to Nastran Grounding and Groundchecks
Learn more about what grounding is and why a groundcheck should be completed before every analysis.
Grounding occurs when a finite element model cannot move without straining, whether because of constraints or because of bad element quality, poorly defined connections, or matrix ill-conditioning. A Nastran groundcheck performs a series of rigid body translations and rotations to determine whether grounding is present. This webinar will share possible causes of grounding, steps to request a groundcheck, and how to interpret the results.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
