About the Speaker:

Layne Clemen, Ph.D., Project Engineer, ATA Engineering, Inc.

Dr. Layne Clemen possesses expertise across all aspects of systems modeling from first-principles derivations to full system integration and simulation.  At ATA Engineering, he specializes in modeling mechatronics systems, vibration control, and vehicle dynamics.  Dr. Clemen completed his Ph.D. at UC Davis with Profs. Don Margolis and Dean Karnopp, who sat on the original board that developed Amesim. Following their examples of always looking for the simplest solution, Dr. Clemen is an expert at tailoring system model complexity to meet the needs and objectives of a design project.
