On-Demand Webinar: Introduction to Nastran Grounding and Groundchecks
Learn more about what grounding is and why a groundcheck should be completed before every analysis.
Grounding occurs when a finite element model cannot move without straining, whether because of constraints or because of bad element quality, poorly defined connections, or matrix ill-conditioning. A Nastran groundcheck performs a series of rigid body translations and rotations to determine whether grounding is present. This webinar, originally presented on March 17, 2020 by Michelle DeRienzo, will share possible causes of grounding, steps to request a groundcheck, and how to interpret the results.
