ATA Engineering has announced that April marks its 15th anniversary as a provider of high-value engineering services in the areas of product design, analysis, and test.
While ATA’s experience extends back to the 1970s as the Advanced Test and Analysis group of Structural Dynamics Research Corporation, it was founded as an independent company in April of 2000, with a staff of 28 employees dedicated to delighting customers through innovative, integrated design, analysis, and test solutions. The company has grown steadily ever since—from 28 employees in a single San Diego office to nearly 120 in six offices spread across the US—and has also expanded service offerings from its roots in advanced design, analysis, and test into new technical disciplines such as acoustics, computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, control-structure interaction, design and build services, custom software development, and the sales and support of Siemens PLM software. After 15 years, ATA has earned a reputation of expertise in the industry, with the experience, technology, and skill to find solutions to customers’ most challenging engineering problems.
To achieve this, ATA has not simply kept pace with the state of the art but has been deeply involved in refining and advancing industry practices. ATA has led the way in the development of novel methods and tools to improve design, analysis, and test processes, with innovations including tools to increase productivity and reduce costs as well as numerous highly advanced patented methods able to achieve superior results compared to traditional techniques.
This anniversary comes at a time of great successes for ATA, including receiving NASA’s prestigious George M. Low award for excellence in 2012. ATA’s growth has also continued, with its 2014 expansion into a 60,000 square foot headquarters facility with larger laboratory and testing space, and recent expansion of its software business as a value-added reseller of Siemens software products, launching a software-focused website offering valuable resources including tutorials, white papers, and tips to complement the formal training provided in ATA’s classes. ATA also hosted the 2015 Femap Symposia series, with attendance higher than the national events in 2013 and 2014.
ATA’s plans for the future include springboarding off their extensive aerospace, defense, and entertainment industry experience to explore new industries while maintaining their commitment to delighting customers with unsurpassed service.
Commenting on the milestone, ATA Chairman and General Manager Dr. Jeff Young said, “We’re grateful for the support and loyalty of our customers and our employee-owners, who have been the key to our success. After 15 years as an employee-owned small business with tremendous job satisfaction, daily new challenges, and diverse customers across many industries, ATA remains an exciting place to work. We look forward to the next 15 years.”
